I'm just looking forward to revisiting a lot of these characters again. Why was Mulder so quick to believee this Malley guy? As for Cigarette Smoking Man, no friggin clue! Surely it'll be touched upon. It would seem that Chris Carter has a few cards up his sleeve yet! How can Gibson Praise's role in all this be in any way lessened? Also, I hate this post-game stuff screwing up the timing of things. The back and forth on the porch towards the end was positively dreadful in terms of acting and dialogue. Picking up from where they left off.
I feel like it's going to start getting good and be over which is why I sort of wish that we were getting more than six episodes. I think that the bad press that it's gotten has mostly to do with what reviewers wanted the episode to be rather than looking at it objectively and taking it for what it is. Ahora, el segundo episodio me gusto mucho mas. Consideremos que pasaron 13 años. I think Gillian Anderson needed to rewatch some old episodes beforehand to refamiliarize herself with the role because the character she was playing in tonight's episode was not Dana Scully.
I didn't expect the first episode to just be back in the normal swing of things and it had to set things up again for potential new viewers and just to get the show going again after such a lengthy absence. The chemistry between Duchovny and Anderson is undeniable. But I actually really enjoyed it. Why was Mulder so quick to believe this O'Malley guy? Objectively it was poorly written, plotted and paced. Knew about the one character possibly being resurrected, but didn't realize that about the rest. I figured going in that there would have to be quite a bit of exposition in the first episode so that didn't bother me.
The best part was the classic intro kept intact and it just went downhill from there. . The timeline of the events of the episode happened over the course of several days, so Mulder had a chance to chew over everything that he had been told and had seen, especially what he saw in the hangar. Mulder and Scully slip back into play like a pair of comfortable old slippers.
This is the worst performance Anderson has ever given as Scully. I mean, his last appearance literally showed a missle explosion melting his face from his skull. Hopefully if this event series does well we'll get more in the future. The best part was the classic intro kept intact and it just went downhill from there. The little fucker read minds.
Why no mention of him? Only way to explain it is if there's now a clone, or if the guy we saw die was a clone. Just denying and brushing aside all he had seen over the course of nine goddamn years just like that? That spacecraft still in Africa? And I guess that's not out of the realm of possibility considering the source material. Sadly it seems that doesnt apply for David Duchovny and Gilian Anderson. Just like this new thankless chick who was just there to look cute then die. I expected the worst based on the few bad reviews circulating and not so great buzz. Before really jumping into the mix.
Like good friends who have been away for a while and just kind of appear back in your life. I feel like it's going to start getting good and be over which is why I sort of wish that we were getting more than six episodes. I didn't expect the first episode to just be back in the normal swing of things and it had to set things up again for potential new viewers and just to get the show going again after such a lengthy absence. As for Maz's comments above: 1. I know that the Lone Gunmen faked their deaths in the canonized comic series.
Seeing Mulder, Scully and Skinner made me feel really old. The only negative I see is that Season 10 will go no further. It's like the past nine seasons never happened. Gotta say that the plot alludes to all current discussions and 'conspiracy theories' and ties them all together quite nicely. I also felt this was introduction for new fans. I didn't feel that Mulder was so quick to believe O'Malley. Such a pity because the script is interesting but the performance ruins it all.
I not only want more episodes down the road, but hoping for another big screen movie or two. This Premiere looked and felt like it was written and directed by someone none too familiar with the show. Hopefully if this event series does well we'll get more in the future. She's also been out of Mulder's orbit for that length of time, and it's clear at least, until the end of the episode that she's conflicted as to whether she wants to have anything to do with aliens again. Algo que disfrute fue que hayan dejado el mismo intro de siempre, genial.
Why no mention of him? Bad reviews be damned, I'm still looking forward to it! Through O'Malley they are introduced to Sveta, a possible alien abductee who shares shocking information with them that will challenge everything that Mulder has ever believed about the existence of aliens and the government's role in covering them up. I'm trying to keep this as spoiler-free as possible. Just denying and brushing aside all he had seen over the course of nine goddamn years just like that? I was pleasantly surprised by the episode. I think Gillian Anderson needed to rewatch some old episodes beforehand to refamiliarize herself with the role because the character she was playing in tonight's episode was not Dana Scully. And one to reacquaint the show to older fans. Like astrochimp, I was absolutely giddy watching it.
